In 1984 a sand beach in Dooagh, Achill Island in Ireland was washed away by several severe storms in 1984. For the last 33 years the shore has been rocky, until April of this year, when an unusual tide caused the sandy beach to reappear. The residents of Dooagh are undoubtedly pleased to have their beach back just in time for summer!
As usual I am left in awe at the power of our oceans and weather systems, especially when set against the back drop of my home: a presently flooded southern Ontario.
